Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What programmes does Inizio Music offer?

We offer:

  • Individual piano lessons (children & adults)
  • Early-childhood music programmes (Tuney Tots Music Exploration- Small group with max 5 students)
  • Music theory & musicianship group classes (Grades 6–8)
  • Violin lessons (Individual and Buddy Duo)

Our programmes are thoughtfully designed to build strong musical foundations, confidence, and a lasting love for music.

  • Children can begin as young as 4 years old in our Tuney Tots Music Exploration programme. This class focuses on rhythm, listening skills, coordination, and musical curiosity — without pressure or exams.
  • Individual instrument lessons are recommended from age 5, with exceptions for younger children based on teacher assessment.
  • Parents are not required to attend Tuney-Tots Music Exploration classes, as children are encouraged to learn independently. Teachers will provide updates and feedback to parents after each session.
  • For individual lessons, parents may sit in during the initial period if additional support is needed. Thereafter, students are gently encouraged to attend lessons independently.
  • Individual lessons: 45 or 60 minutes per month

  • Online recital at the end of every term
  • Annual physical recital at the end of the year

Performances are supportive and encouraging — designed to help students grow, not to compete.

Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice, except in cases of illness or emergency.

For eligible cancellations, a replacement lesson will be arranged either before or after the missed lesson.

An acoustic piano is recommended for piano students, while beginners may start with a digital piano with weighted keys. Upgrade guidance will be provided as needed.

Students learning other instruments (e.g. violin, guitar) are advised to own their own instruments.

We currently offer complimentary trial lessons (subject to availability).
This allows students to experience our teaching approach before committing.

Currently, Inizio Music specialises in piano and violin lessons. We look forward to expanding our offerings to include more instruments, such as guitar, in the future.

Music exams are an option, not a requirement.
We believe exams are a useful tool when a student is ready — emotionally, physically, and musically.
Our priority is building solid technique, musical understanding, and confidence first. Exams come naturally when the foundation is strong.

Exam readiness is assessed based on:

  • Technical control
  • Musical understanding
  • Focus and emotional resilience
  • Practice habits

We guide parents honestly and thoughtfully, without comparison or unnecessary pressure.
